Pushover

Alerts are useful only if you see them. You cannot watch a dashboard all day. Pushover sends Simple Observability alerts to your phone, tablet, or desktop so you see them at once.

What you get with Pushover

You get push notifications on any device that has the Pushover app. Each notification includes a short summary of the event that triggered the alert, with a link back to your dashboard.

How it works

Simple Observability sends a notification through the Pushover API when an alert fires. Any device that runs the Pushover app and uses your user key gets the notification.

Integration walkthrough

Connecting Pushover

1. Create a Pushover account at pushover.net and install the Pushover app on your device.
2. Go to the Channels page in your Simple Observability account.
3. Click the Add Channel button in the top right corner.
4. Select Pushover from the list of channel types.
5. Click Subscribe with Pushover. Pushover opens and asks you to confirm.
6. After you confirm, Simple Observability adds your user key. Save the channel.

You can also enter your user or group key manually. The key is on your Pushover dashboard.

Sending a test alert

After you save the channel, click the Test button. The button sends a test message to your Pushover app.

How to uninstall

Delete the channel in your Simple Observability account. This stops all notifications to your Pushover devices.
